New Zealand motorhome manufacturer TrailLite is bringing its newly unveiled, NZ-built Roadcraft motorhome to Taupō from November 1–3, as part of its North Island Tiki Tour.
Having kicked off in Whitianga over Labour Weekend, followed by a stop in Mount Maunganui, the tour now heads to Taupō's Tongariro North Domain, giving locals the chance to step inside the all-new Roadcraft prototype, explore a luxury TrailLite Matakana motorhome and chat with the TrailLite team.
The tour will then continue south to Napier and further destinations across the lower North Island. Locations and times are available on the TrailLite website.
Fresh off its public debut at the NZMCA Motorhome, Caravan & Leisure Show, Roadcraft is the latest offering from TrailLite, designed specifically around the way Kiwis travel – putting greater freedom and spontaneity at its core.
The new model has attracted strong early interest, with eight motorhomes sold ‘off the plans’ before buyers had even seen the real thing.
Roadcraft has been engineered to provide greater independence from mains power, water and fully serviced campground facilities. Increased fresh and grey-water storage and lithium battery capacity support longer periods off-grid, giving owners more flexibility to extend a stay or change plans along the way.
Inside, an island bed option provides walk-around space on both sides for improved comfort and accessibility, while a full oven and refrigerator with a separate freezer bring the comforts of home to longer journeys.
TrailLite joint managing director Shaun Newman says the early sales, all made sight unseen, have been encouraging.
“It’s a huge vote of confidence in what we’ve created. We knew there was an opportunity for a locally-built motorhome specifically for Kiwi travel – one that could compete with the European brands that traditionally dominate the market,” Newman says.
“It’s about giving owners the capability and confidence to travel further and stay longer, without losing the comfort and quality they expect.”
Built on the trusted Fiat platform, supplied and supported by Fiat NZ, Roadcraft combines the performance, driving comfort and safety expected of a modern touring vehicle with a design that answers the demands of New Zealand roads, camping conditions and travel habits.
Roadcraft is currently available in two floorplan configurations, with a third to follow next year. Prices start from $231,000.
