Motorists in the Taupō district are advised that a section of the State Highway 1 East Taupō Arterial will be closed for three consecutive nights this week due to resurfacing work.
The closure affects the section of SH1 between the Airport Roundabout and the Taupō/Napier Roundabout and will be in effect Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights (18-20 March) from 7pm until 6am each night.
Traffic management systems and speed restrictions will remain in place during daylight hours while work is ongoing and for three days following the completion of resurfacing. Motorists are warned to expect delays and to plan their journeys accordingly.
Detour routes have been established for the duration of the closures. Northbound traffic will be diverted via Lake Terrace, then right onto Napier Road to rejoin SH1. Southbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.
