Taupo's Member of Parliament Louise Upston has been given additional responsibilities in Prime Minister Christopher Luxon's first cabinet reshuffle for 2025.
The Prime Minister has appointed Upston as the new Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, citing the industry's importance to regional New Zealand. "Tourism is a critical industry for promoting growth and employment in regional New Zealand," Mr Luxon says.
Upston will also take on the role of Deputy Leader of the House, adding to her existing ministerial responsibilities.
The changes come as part of a wider cabinet reshuffle aimed at driving economic growth in 2025.
