Construction of a new roundabout on Lake Terrace is expected to begin on 31 August and be completed by the end of November.
This is not a council project. The roundabout is being funded by Wharewaka East Ltd, the developer of Ngā Roto Estate, and constructed by Camex Civil. It is a requirement of the Ngā Roto Estate resource consent, triggered once traffic volumes reached 2,000 vehicles per day on Maunganamu Drive.
The roundabout will provide safe connections to Ngā Roto Estate via Maunganamu Drive and to Lakeside Terraces via Pukenamu Road. Once it is completed, the southern Pukenamu Road connection to Wharewaka Road will close.
While the work is underway, please obey any diversions in place and drive carefully around the work site. We appreciate everyone’s patience while the developer completes this project.
Residents in Ngā Roto Estate and Lakeside Terraces will receive a letter from the contractor in the coming days explaining the temporary traffic management and providing contractor contact details. Public queries about the construction works should be referred to the contractor.
