Left Turn Only From Roberts Street: New Summer Traffic Trial in Taupō
From 25 November, Roberts Street will trial a left-turn-only exit onto Ruapehu Street to reduce congestion and improve safety. Full closure wasn’t considered due to business access needs. Drivers are encouraged to use Tītīraupenga Street as a bypass.
State Highway Update for Taupō
Roadworks on SH1 Ātiamuri to Wairakei and the East Taupō Arterial (closed until 6 Dec) may cause delays. Detours are in place. Plan ahead, especially with events like the VinFast IRONMAN 70.3.
