Taupō’s next Repair Café is coming up, and this one’s extra special - we’re part of Aotearoa New Zealand’s 2025 Repair Festival (6–14 September), a week-long celebration of fixing, mending, and sharing repair skills across the country.
At our last event, 21 volunteers helped with 50 registered items, saving 324kg in emissions and 60kg from the tip. In total we repaired 38 items, marked 8 as repairable, and only 4 were beyond saving.
The Taupō Repair Café is proudly community-led, with support from Volunteer Great Lake Taupō. Bike Taupō, Project Tongariro, TimeBank Community Garden, Taupō District Council’s Waste Team, and many generous volunteers. From sewing and electrical fixes to bike repairs and even 3D-printed parts our team can tackle a wide range of jobs.
Repairs are free, but koha is welcome to help cover consumables.
