Taupō Police are appealing for information from the public following a serious two-vehicle crash that hospitalised multiple people on State Highway 5 near Rangitaiki.
The collision, which occurred around 10:30am on Sunday 23 March, involved a white Toyota Hiace van and a car near Rangitaiki School Road.
Senior Sergeant Fane Troy said that while none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening, police are working to establish the circumstances leading up to the crash.
"Police would like to speak to the driver of a vehicle that was overtaken by a white Toyota Hiace van moments before the crash," Troy said.
"Anybody else who witnessed the crash, or has any dashcam footage of the van, is encouraged to contact Police via 105, either over the phone or online."

The driver of the van appeared in the Tauranga District Court today and is scheduled to reappear on Wednesday 26 March. No details about charges have been released at this time.
