Police are urging Taupō district residents to check their properties as the search continues for missing Wellington man Travis Langford, with possible sightings reported in the Mangakino area.
Langford has been missing since January 17, when he travelled from Wellington to the Waikato region. His vehicle was found burnt out on a Tolley Road farm in Ngaroma on January 18.
In recent weeks, there have been reported sightings of a man matching Langford's description in the Mangakino area. The man was seen wearing long pants, no shoes and carrying a backpack.
Police are specifically asking property owners throughout the district to check any outbuildings, sheds, barns and abandoned buildings for signs of disturbance or any evidence of someone seeking shelter.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Police on 105, quoting reference number 250119/4439.
Personal items belonging to Langford were found during initial searches in January, which involved Search and Rescue staff, police and the Eagle helicopter, alongside private searches conducted by family and friends.
