Taupō Lakes & Waterways are co-hosting an Aquatic Biodiversity Forum with REAP Central Plateau outlining the critical threat to our waterways from the Freshwater Golden Clam. Golden Clams in the Waikato River have multiplied to cover a stretch from Mangakino to Tuakau. They have also closed our local Aquapark. We do not want them in our lake and rivers! The evening aims to be educational, interactive, and encouraging community advocacy toward preventing the spread of this unwanted aquatic pest.
It will include NIWA & MPI presentations, a panel discussion with key agencies and supper.
All welcome!
