Exhausted but glad it was over was participant Amelia Stokes’ reaction to finishing the longest day to round off another staging of the CACTUS Youth Development Course – this one having run at Taupō-nui-a-Tia College over the past nine weeks.
Stokes admitted to a few low moments “when we were going up Mount Tauhara and running back down.”
That would have been heading up the mountain on Wednesday (September 10) evening to catch the sunset before coming back down for dinner, speeches and a night of deliberately interrupted sleep at the college’s wharenui.
