Le Currents unveils biggest lineup in its history

Le Currents has confirmed an impressive roster of international and local talent for the December 27-28 concert at Riverside Park this year.

Le Currents has announced its line-up for the now two-day festival in December at Riverside Park in Taupō

Le Currents has unveiled its biggest lineup to date, confirming a huge roster of international and local talent for the festival's first-ever two-day edition at Riverside Park, Taupō on December 27-28.

Leading the charge are Australian favourites Ocean Alley, New Zealand legends Fat Freddy's Drop (playing Based On A True Story), global electronic music icon Carl Cox, UK electronic duo Dusky, indie heavyweights DMA'S and hometown heroes No Cigar.

They will be joined by an extensive lineup featuring The Butlers, Summer Thieves, Borderline, Old Mervs, Vanilla Gorilla, Eden Burns, Coast Arcade, Beccie B, Double Parked, Abeiku, Fine Wine Social Club and many more across what promises to be the biggest weekend in Le Currents history.

Since launching in 2020, Le Currents has grown from a boutique riverside event into one of New Zealand's premier destination festivals. Previous editions have welcomed artists including Sticky Fingers, Lime Cordiale, Rudimental, Dope Lemon and Dave Dobbyn, helping establish the event as a must-attend fixture on the summer calendar.

Now entering its sixth year, the festival has taken a big step forward with a move to two days and its most ambitious lineup to date.

Festival director Toby Burrows says the 2026 programme reflects years of growth and planning.

"This is the lineup we've always dreamed of bringing to Le Currents. Expanding to two days has allowed us to build something truly special and deliver the strongest festival bill we've ever assembled."

Walt Robberds says the lineup reinforces Le Currents' position as one of New Zealand's leading destination music events.

"People travel from all over the country for Le Currents and we wanted the first two-day edition to feel like a genuine step up. Bringing together artists of this calibre across two days in Taupō is something we're incredibly proud of."

Adam McDonald, operations manager at Trademark Live, says the festival being spread across two days gives organisers space to bring in new, less well-known acts.

“It's a great concert to really get amongst it and see some up-and-coming acts and really see what New Zealand has to offer.”

“It's a big part of what we look at Le Currents. Walt… is really, really keen on making sure he's seen the upcoming acts and making them shine through the lineup.”

Set against the backdrop of the Waikato River at Riverside Park, Le Currents has become renowned for pairing world-class music with one of the country's most picturesque festival settings.

With strong demand expected following today's announcement, organisers are encouraging fans to secure tickets early.
