Talented youth from Taupō and Rotorua will provide the performances at a June 8 afternoon concert raising money to support young classical musicians in the region.
'Art in the House and Garden' at the home of Helene Phillips, the chair of Geyser Community Foundation, features pianists, a flutist, saxophonist, as well as a contemporary trio of two guitars and bass.
Flute player Renata Pazelli and guitarist Kaegan Palmer are the Taupō performers playing alongside fellow musicians from Rotorua.
Funds raised at the event contribute to the Michael Pilaar Memorial Music Fund, a Geyser scholarship fund, which supports classical musicians.
Michael was an accomplished young cellist, who died of melanoma at age 19 in 2017. His parents Christan and Elizabeth set up the fund to honour his memory and to assist other young musicians to develop their skills.
The $40 entry fee to the 2pm concert at 98a Acacia Heights Drive includes afternoon tea, entry into a draw for a luxury hamper and following the concert, a chance to enjoy Helene's collection of art and sculpture in her large house and garden.
