Taupō's Emergency Services Day provided an opportunity for community members to engage with local first responders on Sunday, with good weather enhancing the interactive displays and demonstrations.
The annual showcase featured emergency services personnel connecting with visitors through a helicopter landing, live demonstrations, and rescue dogs from both Land Search and Rescue and Coastguard teams.
"We were blessed with fantastic weather, and we had an amazing turn out of people attending from the Taupō community. The event seems to get bigger and better every year," said the event coordinator.
Coastguard, Land Search and Rescue, Harbourmaster and Civil Defense all participated in this year's event, which raised $412 for the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter's new winch through a community sausage sizzle.
