Mercury is resuming construction work on the Control Gates Bridge in Taupō from Monday, February 24, with the project expected to continue until June.
Motorists should be aware that a 30kmh speed restriction will be in place for the duration of the works, affecting all bridge traffic.
Night-time lane closures will occur between 9pm and 5am, with digital signage screens positioned near the bridge to provide advance notice before any closures take effect.
Pedestrians will also be affected, as the footpath on the upstream side of the bridge will be closed during certain periods throughout the construction timeline.
The infrastructure project is part of Mercury's ongoing maintenance work on the bridge, which serves as a critical connection point for Taupō residents and visitors.
