Mark it on the calendar, the Community Marketplace is back at Waipahihi Hall, and we're pleased to have Special Olympics Taupō running the community kitchen. We're running on our winter market hours, so plan your visit around that. You'll find car boot treasures, pre-loved clothing, useful household bits, repaired and upcycled goods, and a chance to swap produce too. It's a place to shop, a place to swap, and a place to sell, with no fuss involved. While you're there, grab something from the community kitchen and support a great local cause. Special Olympics clubs in New Zealand enrich the lives of people with an intellectual disability through sport. Special Olympics Taupō provides year-round training and competition in ten pin bowling and swimming for children and adults with an intellectual disability. Their programmes help athletes build physical fitness, improve strength, co-ordination and balance, while also helping athletes develop life skills, communication skills and friendships within the community. Funds raised through the community kitchen at this event will go towards athlete registration fees for regional competitions and giving athletes the opportunity to try a new sport, Bocce. Both inside and outside spaces are available, so if you've got something to sell or just want a wander around, this one's worth popping in the diary.
