The body of a missing jetskier has been recovered from Lake Taupō following a coordinated search operation involving multiple agencies and community groups.
Police confirmed the recovery was made by the Police Dive Squad in the Nukuhau/Acacia Bay area of the lake this afternoon. A rāhui has been implemented in this area and will remain in place for the next few days.
The search operation brought together various community resources, including the Harbourmaster, Coastguard, and members of the public. The Tuwharetoa Māori Trust Board and local hapu provided support to the deceased's whānau throughout the search.
The death has been referred to the Coroner for investigation.
