The 2025 series of midday concerts kick off on Friday March 7 with 'Dave Flynn's Celtic Guitar Journey' but in this case an evening time slot.
Flynn is an award-winning Irish composer and musician, who presents guitar arrangements of Irish and Scottish traditional music as well as some with a New Zealand flavour.
His imaginative compositions, which amalgamate orchestral, jazz, rock and folk elements, have been celebrated in the New York Times for their 'power and grittiness' and as transcending traditions and borders and his work has been performed by the Prague Chamber Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, New Juilliard Ensemble, and the New Zealand String Quartet.
Doors open for the concert in St Andrew's Anglican Church at 5 pm, and the hour-long concert starts at 5.30 pm. Entry is $15.
Culture Ireland supports Flynn's tour of New Zealand.
