Police say they have arrested a 27-year-old man in relation to the ongoing homicide investigation in Tūrangi.
He will be appearing in Rotorua District Court today (Saturday) charged with breaching a protection order.
Further charges were being considered, said Detective Inspector Craig Rawlinson in an official release.
Emergency services were called to Hinerangi Street early yesterday morning, where one person was found deceased.
The investigation is continuing, and as part of this Police are still seeking any witnesses to what occurred, and any CCTV or video footage.
Police also said a large presence would remain in Tūrangi for the next few days as investigators worked to piece together what had happened.
